Shirley Chisholm, a proud graduate of Brooklyn College, exemplifies the spirit of determination and achievement. She served New York City in Congress, championing anti-poverty programs and spearheading reforms in housing laws, transforming the Fair Housing Act to protect individuals from discrimination.

Shirley Chisholm State Park, is opened 365 days a year. Named in her honor, the park offers 10 miles of scenic trails and waterfront access, providing a space to reflect on her indelible mark on society.
