Personal tenant care

Living below the poverty line impacts every aspect of a person’s life: mental health, physical health, ability to cope with daily problems. Many of the tenants in our housing units are formerly homeless and live with chronic illnesses.

IMPACCT Brooklyn’s social services department provides intensive case management and support services for individuals to reach their optimal level of self-reliance and independence. We ensure that critical needs other than housing are met — adequate food, physical and mental health care, and socialization — for people who are struggling to move out of poverty and dependence. We give people the break they need to regroup and get back on track with their lives.

Community Impact

When it comes to community, our focus is on establishing an outreach program that provides local residents with information about events, news and headlines. We provide housing lottery training workshops and work with developers to provide affordable units to community residents. We also connect on a personal level, offering one-on-one housing counseling sessions.

“IMPACCT’s program gave me a bit of foresight about what to expect and what to prepare. Without that, it would have been a bit more tenuous because I was going through the homebuying process for the first time.”
