Lefferts Historic House Exhibit

Our communications manager Lynn Rutledge recently visited the exhibit currently at the Lefferts Historic House located in Prospect Park in Brooklyn.

The focus is on the enslaved individuals who worked on the land and built the house itself. Artist Adama Delphine Fawundu brought the exhibit to life with fabric installations both inside and outside the house, capturing the spirit of those enslaved.

It’s not widely known that Brooklyn homes and farms held many enslaved people until slavery was abolished in 1827.
