On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, IMPACCT Brooklyn and Access Justice Brooklyn co-hosted a Free Help for Homeowners Workshop that focused on assisting homeowners in need of legal assistance. The workshop was lead by Peter White, Supervising Attorney of Access Justice Brooklyn, along with 3 attorneys, Pat Julien, Director of Homeowner Services and Lorraine LaBorde, Homeowner Counselor. The event was held at 1000 Dean, 4th floor, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
Homeowners met one-on-one with the attorneys from Access Justice Brooklyn and received free legal advice and assistance to address issues such as foreclosure prevention, building violations and any other homeowner-related concerns, while also gaining education about IMPACCT Brooklyn’s vision and services. While it was a minimal turn-out, it was still a success. If we’ve helped at least one person keep their home, we’ve helped a community!
