The series runs from March through May of 2016 and starts with a Storefront Stroll. The Stroll is a Saturday event where IMPACCT hosts a networking breakfast and showcases approximately ten vacant commercial spaces to attendees. During the networking portion, a host of organizations and agencies are on hand to offer entrepreneurs free and low cost resources to help grow their small business. Directly after, event attendees will hop on “Molly the Trolley” to tour available storefronts on bustling commercial corridors in Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Bedford Stuyvesant, Prospect Heights and Prospect Lefferts Garden, Brooklyn. Each storefront gate will be “rolled up” and IMPACCT staff will speak about each space with prospective tenants and answer questions.
Dale Charles, Director of Economic Development says, “The goal of the workshops are to educate local business owners and entrepreneurs, providing them with the support they need to get their businesses off the ground or improve the ones they already have. Once attendees complete the course they are ready to be matched with the commercial property that’s best suited for their business. IMPACCT works with clients from the beginning of the process, to the point where they are ready to sign their lease.”
After the Storefront Stroll, IMPACCT hosts a series of workshops on various topics facilitated by experts in the field, like “Incorporating Your Business” with attorneys from Stroock & Stroock and “Marketing Your Business” taught by a Constant Contact Local Expert. These free events will be held at 1000 Dean, Suite 420, IMPACCT’s new office in Crown Heights. To reserve your spot or to get more info, call 718-522-2613 x 111 or email pacc@impacctbk.org.
