Gibb Mansion Memorial Day BBQ

IMPACCT Brooklyn kicked off the Memorial Day weekend with a barbeque for the affordable housing tenants they serve, along with community partners and dedicated staff members.

Senior Social Worker Maik Bain was celebrated, as he retired after 17 years of service to IMPACCT Brooklyn. His contributions have been incredible, and he will be greatly missed.

Special recognition went to MVP and cook Petra Young, whose passion for cooking (and famous seafood salad) creates a sense of community among the residents in supportive housing.

A huge thank you was extended to Board Chair Yvonne Cummings, who served lunch to clients, staff, and community partners. Board Member Daniel Fennessy also joined the festivities.

The highlight of the event was connecting with the tenants of affordable housing, many of whom live with chronic illnesses and rely on IMPACCT Brooklyn’s support services and case management for their well-being.

This annual Memorial Day BBQ for Gibb Mansion residents offers a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the holiday weekend together, with volunteers, including board members and staff from other departments, making it all possible.
