We are a community development organization that has been around for over 60 years supporting our mission to build, restore and preserve quality housing and educational services to keep our residents rooted in the areas of Brooklyn we advocate for: Bedford Stuyvesant, Clinton Hill, Crown Heights, Ocean Hill-Brownsville, Prospect Heights and Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
Jamal C. Robinson, IMPACCT Executive Director

First, we seek to preserve and create affordable housing. Fulfilling the fundamental right to affordable housing is a cornerstone for establishing well-being, preventing displacement and enhancing economic, racial and cultural diversity.

Second, we seek to promote and support the development of small businesses and vibrant commercial corridors. These are the engines of opportunity that create jobs for community residents, bring better services to our neighborhoods and enhance our community as a place to live.

Third, we empower residents to actively shape their neighborhoods. Through community advocacy, we build leadership, amplify local voices and strengthen collective action to address social issues, advocate for equitable policies and protect tenant rights. Our efforts ensure communities remain resilient, inclusive and reflective of residents’ values and aspirations.

IMPACCT Brooklyn is made up of accomplished business professionals looking to give back to the community. A team that is proud to be making a difference in the lives of Brooklynites. For us, it’s all about fostering and promoting an ethic that all members of the community bear personal responsibility to contribute to the greater good.
Since 1964, IMPACCT Brooklyn has been defending the rights of tenants, local merchants and homeowners. Throughout our organization’s proud history, we have been working with community members and partners to make strides for Central Brooklyn residents and entrepreneurs. Of course, there’s so much more to the IMPACCT Brooklyn story . . .
