Running a small business is personal — it’s long hours, big dreams, and the weight of making it work. This spring, IMPACCT Brooklyn wrapped up a free technical assistance pilot program, connecting Brooklyn small business owners in Councilmember Crystal Hudson’s district with expert, one-on-one guidance in marketing, financial organization, and business operations — at no cost to participants.
Made possible through Councilmember Hudson’s investment in her community, and delivered in partnership with Angie Hancock & Associates, whose work has reached over 1,200 businesses nationwide, the program prioritized Black- and women-owned businesses ready to grow.
Up to 20 Brooklyn businesses walked away with real tools, renewed confidence, and strategies they can build on long after the program closed.
– Actual number of businesses served — the range was 10–20; the confirmed final count is essential for impact reporting
– Business sectors — what types of businesses participated? Adds texture and relatability for readers
– Participant outcomes — any measurable results, revenue changes, operational improvements, or participant feedback to report?
– Timeline clarification — the proposal references a March–April 2026 timeline; confirming completion date strengthens the “wrapped up” framing
– Participant quote or testimonial — one business owner’s voice would make this mention memorable and personal
– Next steps — will IMPACCT Brooklyn continue or expand small business support? Signals momentum to funders and partners
– Total businesses served cumulatively — if this builds on prior programming, a cumulative number adds broader impact context
