For many Brooklyn families, homeownership and a cleaner home are not distant dreams — they are goals within reach, with the right support. This quarter, IMPACCT Brooklyn’s Homeowner Services team helped make both a reality.
Through the EnergyFit program, 15 Brooklyn homes were retrofitted with clean energy upgrades — replacing 34 gas stoves with electric induction ranges and modernizing electrical systems to support healthier, more efficient living. Three Central Brooklyn homes in Bushwick and Bedford-Stuyvesant received retrofits valued at nearly $78,000 combined.
On the homebuyer side, 15 families received one-on-one counseling, three secured mortgage commitments, and one family was approved for a $97,000 HPD HomeFirst forgivable loan grant — a life-changing milestone. Two additional families are close behind, with their loan packages in preparation.
