Preventing Tenant Displacement
& Preserving Affordable Housing

As real estate prices skyrocket, working people, from teachers to shop owners, find themselves priced out of decent housing, whether they rent or want to buy a home. Buildings that are affordable are often neglected, vermin-infested and unsafe, leading to blighted communities.
We may rehabilitate buildings ourselves or work with developers to add to affordable housing stock. We do what it takes. By renovating dilapidated buildings that no one wants, constructing new buildings, and brokering private / public partnerships to save existing housing, IMPACCT Brooklyn has expanded affordable housing options, allowing low- and moderate-income working families to remain a vital part of the vibrant Brooklyn community.

How We Help

Expanding Housing Options

Because we know the neighborhoods and have on-the-ground contacts, IMPACCT Brooklyn can leverage housing opportunities others might miss. By partnering with others, we brought about the redevelopment of a burned out building, a project that included the first sale of a city-owned building requiring community reinvestment dollars.

Services
  • Identifying housing opportunities in the neighborhoods we serve.

“IMPACCT’s program gave me a bit of foresight about what to expect and what to prepare. Without that, it would have been a bit more tenuous because I was going through the homebuying process for the first time.”
